Hey, Im using QT pro with all the latest updates but when I convert my movies to .3pg theres no way of extracting the audio. I understand I can use virtual dub or tpmpeg.
But whats the easist way and the quickest?
Should I source a different app?

If you have an original movie that you are converting to 3gp, can you not extract the audio from that? I don't think VirtualDub can use 3gp files.

If I understand correctly, you want to extract audio track from 3gp.

The easiest/fastest way to do this is by using freeware called mp4UI (you can find it at doom9.org)

Just rename .3gp to .mp4 and open the file in mp4UI. You will see the audio and video tracks that rest inside the mp4, just select the track you want and click export. Done.

Not sure I follow what you people want to do - whats the purpose of extracting the audio from a 3gp movie - and whats the purpose of converting 3gp movies to a different format ? By converting you will only loose quality.

Anyways - QT pro will let you export both to an uncompressed AVI movie that can then be converted to anything using all kinds of tools, and it will also let you export to a wav audiostream only if you need to extract the audio. Simply open the 3gp file, select export from the file menu and choose what to export to.
