Hi guys, i am interested to hear people's views and opinions of these two, working together. I got mine today (£25 from eBay) and its plugged into my P900 right now. However i've not had any feedback from the car, and its been plugged in ten minutes or so... Initially i am kinda worried about it being faulty or something, but i just read someplace, it may need an initial hr's charge. Does anyone have any 'experience' using the CAR-100 with the P900 or even P800 and could put my mind at rest? I'll leave it on charge, no less all afternoon, but still, it doesn't appear to be massively draining my batterY (if at all) which isn't what i expected... (which further makes me believe *maybe* its faulty?)

Thanks for reading guys.

Steve

the car-100 works great in flip open or flip closed modes on the P900

there is no native support for the car-100 in the P900 so make sure you have downloaded and installed the driver program from the P900 support site.

Thanks, i have downloaded the app called 'CAR-100' from SonyE, and installed it, however, like i said, my initial worry is that the car is 'ok'. Does it really need a lengthy charge, first time round? Its been charging for about 20mins, and my battery (phone idle) has only decreased 5%... I might be worrying over nothing, but none-tha-less, posting here is free piece of mind.

Could you tell me how things went the very first time you bought it? Did you leave it charging for a length amount of time, before using it?

Thanks for replying, appreciated.

I charged it first time on a T630 and waited until the light went green which I vaguelly recall is what the manual says. once it was working on the T630 I paired it with the P900 and away it went.

I think you're probably worrying too much. I do find that sometimes I charge it and the light never goes green but the next time it does.

its a toy so don't let it stress you too much as the whole point is a bit of fun

let us know how you go

Hey, thanks once more.

Well i left it all afternoon, connected to my P900. I just got back, and it feels warm - which i guess is a good sign its been doing something. Strangely my P900 was off, also. I turned it on, and it seems i've gone from 64% @ 2pm, to nothing now. Once more, further proof the battery powers been used up someplace.

However, i am not quite sure how this little thing works. Ok, so on the basis of what i just mentioned, it should have a charge, yea? Ok, so from that, i assume i merely hold my finger on the button for a bit, and the lights are supposed to come on, and flicker and stuff. Does it need to be connected to my fone when i do this? How long do i hold it down for roughly? I've tried it, disconnected from the phone, and after at least 15 secs, nothing appears to happen... Maybe i am missing something?

Please holla back!

Thanks.

You need to pair the two together first.

Turn the car off (hold down the button) and then turn it back on (again holding down the button) but DON'T release it. Keep holding it down even after it's turned on.

Eventually (10 seconds?) the car light change between green and red and at this point you can release it as it's now in pairing mode.

Goto your P900 and browse for new Bluetooth devices. Find the Bluetooth car (Car-100) and pair it. Type in a code of 0000 and it should pair ok and the red/green lights should change to just green.

Now edit the Car-100 device on your P900 and tick the box for always allow access or whatever it says (there's only one box to tick and that's the one u want ticked)

Then finally loads the software on your phone and voila you're away. I've had more luck with one of the apps than the other, but i cant' remember which sorry and I dont' have it installed right now.

but to install it I remember having to copy the .jad and .jar files onto the phone and then using the file manager run the .jad file and it pops up and allows you to install it.

Hope this helped anyway!

Its working, well kinda
I've paired it, and now its sat on my desk flashing all green. However when i go into Car-100 software on my fone, it initially says 'avaliable' but not attached... How do i get it 'attached' ?

I feel so F**king stupid, omg!!!
