I have a really strange bug in my z1010 and im wondering if this is software or hardware problem (if i need to send it on service).
The problem is that a couple of days ago i transfered an mp3 from my computer to my z1010 to use as a ringsignal, everything seemed to work fine the tune played itself nicely and all, but when trying to play the tune a while later my z1010 just gives me "the tune cannot be played..." and as if this wasn't enough NO sound playes at all. When someone rings the phone doesn't make a sound, if i see that the phone is ringing i can answer but i can't hear anything absolutely no sound comes out of the speaker. I restart the phone and it works for a while again. Naturally i removed the mp3 from my phone and everything workes perfectly.
So i called up SE and they say that there hasn't been any reported errors on this and that i should send my phone on service. But i think it sounds unlikely that this is a hardware error since it only appears with this specific mp3, more likely is that it is a bug in their software.
I have put the mp3 on the net at
http://www.batliv.net/smb.mp3 (super mario bros tune), if anyone with a z1010 could test this file and se if they get the same error i would be very greatful.

That wap new to me. It must be because the phone can only support mp3 bitrates up to 196, and fankofer encodings. Try to re-encode the song with some program to wav,and then back to mp3. That should help, cos it is only that song.

Ok, i haven't found any word about such limitations in my user's manual. The tune is only 64kbit btw.
And even if this is a fact that some mp3 tunes are incompatible this shouldn't case the entire phone to mess up, i just want to know if this is a general problem with all z1010 so that i can call up SE and tell them to make better FW =).

My guess is that the mp3 is corrupt. Any mp3software that you use on your computer will accept/ignore it, but not the player in z1010. Had a similar problem, I just reencoded and the problem was fixed. Long filenames seems to be a problem aswell...

Hmm is there any good way of checking if an mp3 is ok other than trial and error?
Still think that it should be better support for this in z1010.
