When I have an incoming call, the following information scrolls on my T39 before I open the flip (and accept the call):
Name
Phone #
Line #

The only problem is that phone numbers in this country are one digit too long to fit on one line and therefore the info (name/phone#/line#) takes up 4 lines. That makes it very annoying if the name just scrolled by on the screen and I have to wait there (with the phone ringing like crazy) for the phone number and line number to scroll by and the name to show up again (especially since it pauses before showing the name again!). What the hell was thinking? Is this some sort of torture to help excersize our brain? Do they think that if the phone number shows after the name that we will remember all the phone numbers in our phone book? What on earth could be the reason for the phone number to show if the person calling is already in the phone book? anyway...

Has anybody figured out how to hide known phone numbers on incoming calls?

oh and regarding the "Line 1"...I got an idea of how to get rid of it...but i haven't been able to complete step d of this procedure:

a. open the service menu using: > * b. go into: 4. Text labels
c. scroll down and find "Line 1"
d. change it to a blank value somehow

any ideas?

p.s. somebody must have made some kind of sw to completely customize these phones...after all the roms don't need to be replaced any more...everything can be done through a cable/ir/bt connection...
