Guys, I know that there has been a lot of thread on this, yes this time I did the search but after spending 3 hours plus going through all the different postings, I couldnt find one that helps me solve my situation. I'm hoping someone would answer my sos call

I have all the files edoom.sis (535KB), edoom1.wad (3219KB) and edoom3.wad (917KB) but I cant install edoom.sis. When I try to do that, I get this error message "a problem occured during the uninstallation.....in use". The thing is I'm trying to install not uninstall??? I've uninstalled the program b4 coz it didnt work and this is my 2nd go. When I uninstalled I used Fileman to remove all files with edoom on it, dont tell maybe that I erased a file that now prevents any installation of the game?

Has anyone faced similar problem before?

If anyone out there has a complete edoom file (sis, and both wads), pls pls email me at tioy99@yahoo.com. I've tried many of the links provided in the previous threads but many of them are broken. Thanks a lot.

P/S: whats the diff between edoom files and doom files anyway???

It think that because you used fileman to delete the previously installed edoom, you have confused your phone a bit.
It thinks the application is installed, but can't find any of the files it needs.
When you try and reinstall it, it's probably trying to delete the previous files, but can't find them, so assumes they are in use.

Did you do a backup of your phone before you deleted the previous files?

As for the doom / edoom files. All .wad files are the same format and should work with both versions.

Thanks Londonstone for that ultra fast reply. Ur explanation makes a lot of sense but unfortunately I didnt do a backup of my phone b4 I deleted EDOOM (I only do a backup once a week). So does that mean that I'll never get to play EDOOM on my P800? Is there no way to unconfuse my P800?

By the way what are ur favourite games anyway?

I imagine that if you removed every single file that related to edoom you might convince your phone it wasn't there.

Or if you backup what you have on your phone now.
Go back to a backup before you installed edoom. Install it again and copy all the files it installs (the ones you deleted) to your PC.

The go back to your current backup, with edoom not working and put those files back on your phone.
It's long winded and crazy, but hey it might just work!

My fave games have to be jexed, gridlock and lemmings. I find too many of the other great games just too hard to play without a joystick thingy.

Pity someone can't design one for the changable flip part of the phone. Either on the back of the flip, or built into the flip removed cover. How cool would that be!

I have EDoom on a cd rom, It has all the files and they where unzipped from the same folder but when I try to install it I get an error message saying -the Doom3.wad file is the wrong one-?

When I installed edoom on my p900 a few weeks ago I didn't have the needed wad -files, so I tried to uninstall it.. Didn't work.. So, I used stacker and deleted all the edoom -files on both drives. That did work eventually, because I still had to restart the phone as it still showed edoom in the "uninstall -list".. you know what I mean

Now I've installed the game again and it seems to be working allright.. I guess there was a bug in the previous .sis file, because of the uninstall problems. At least in Peter's place it says about v1.2: "Fixed "access denied" error during uninstallation. Sometimes you can still get an "In use" error; just reboot and retry the uninstall."

So if you have file manager etc. in your phone, just try removing all the edoom files and install it again..

Favorite games at the moment are definitely monkey island, maniac mansion, tags and silverball..

Sorry guys another sad day without edoom. Jasso when I tried to extract the files you sent me from power archiver, I got "there is a CRC error on file....". Syntax I was unable to download EDoom from ur website coz I get "The requested item could not be loaded by the proxy. Document contains no data" error message. So all in all another futile attempt. If you guys know whats wrong pls respond.

By the way anyone know where I can get games such as maniac mansion, lemmings, monkey island and strip poker? Thanks
