Hi all,

I just decided to make a thread for different markets around the world for cell phones...basically, posting links and discussing differences of cell phone providers from one country to another...I don't particularly like the market here, with 95% of the phones being branded and locked...Just curious to see what is going on around the world...

Here in the uk we have, 1 - o2 2 - orange 3 - vodaphone 4 - bt mobile 5 - t-mobile 6 - virgin mobile 7 - fresh 8 - three Also in northern ireland one of the irish networks has entered the market but cant remember its name. I think thats all here. This message was posted from a T610

We have almost no branded phones here.so no prob of unlocking.im living in Kerala state(province ) in india.if i guess correct in the whole of india there is more than 25 providers.but most of them are restricted to 2 or 3 states.there are 10 operators almost there in all states.i dont know all but in my state there are 5 incl 1 cdma operator. 1 .airtel , airtelworld.com 2. Idea , Ideacellular.com 3 bpl mobile Bplmobile.com 4.bsnl Bsnl.co.in 5.reliance (cdma 1x) Reliance.com (not sure) This message was posted from a T610
