Does anyone know how to fine the file for the SMS default melody and how to get into the standard audio file? I need to select it for use with another application but do not know where it is stored!!
Can any one help?

Use a filemanager & go to:
C:SystemDataDefaultSounds
Here u'll find four sounds, the message alert is 'Notification'
Note: The pre-installed filemanager doesn't show 'System' directories, u need one like FileMan by SymbianWare or the one built into SMan

Here's another tip for you....
As these are on C:\ drive you can change them. You can therefore set any sound you like as the default sound by moving it into that folder & giving it the name of the original sound.
U'll need to rename the original to something else so just add 1 character to it's name for example.
As long as u name the new sound with the
exact name of the original anything will work
