I brought my docking station and cds etc to work today so i could transfer some stuff off my phone but i cant get the bloody thing to work! the light is on the front, but its saying com1 isnt connnected, and it (physically) is! Is it just my pc?

Com1? You are using the cradle with the USB connector right? If yes, check your Phone Link Connection again and make sure that a com port that is higher than 3 is present. I'm using an IR link right now so I'm not sure what the new com port number is. Will get back to you when I get home and check my home PC.

Its only com1 and the IR connections available, and my pc doesnt have IR support. The USB port does work, i tried the mouse in it and it was fine. Why cant things just work?????????

Right. You should be able to see an entry with USB as the Connection type, and it's own COM Port value (mine is in COM5). If not, have you tried using your cradle on another PC? If not, give it a try on another PC and see if it works. If it doesn't, then you may have a defective cradle.

yeah im getting it, its coming up as com1 which my cradle is plugged into, but it wont let me actually access it, when i go to synchronise it says it isnt connected! all the software is installed etc and its pissing me off bigstyle!

Com1 SHOULD be the serial port on the mobo - I'd recommend re-installing your USB driver for the cradle as it's not being pickup up correctly. Your OS is not Win 95 or NT I take it
