> How do you hold a K700?

(In hindsight, this has turned into a rant. Just want to get feedback from you guys on this, I do actually like the K700).
In my first
review I complained about the keypad on the K700i, namely the lack of "alternate word" key for T9, and the use of the # key as "space". Well I still haven't gotten used to it. And I have small hands!
So I'm curious as to how you guys hold this tiny phone? Cause ergonomically speaking, the K700 ranks amongst the most retarded phones I've ever held. I understand that small phone + large display = small keys by definition. And I'm not even going to argue the workmanship of the keys (2 key problem, no separation between keys, no malleable difference between keys, etc). What I am going to argue is what they can actually fix in firmware. And that's the bloody # key.
What overpaid underqualified numbnut at SE decided to put the MOST commonly pressed key in an SMS (the space) in the LEAST stable portion of the phone (its corner) and in the LEAST accessible position (closest to base of thumb)? Not to mention that in theory, your finger is supposed to stay as close to 5 as possible ... and # is the farthest possible key. So at what point did they decide not to use 1 as the space key? The T39m had it, did the T68s and T3/6xxs? And do you think a loud enough outcry could get them to consider moving it?
What do you guys think? How do you hold this tiny phone?

I agree so so much about having the space key on the 1key. So much handier. So much more comfortable. My thumb hurt a lot during the first 6 months of having my t610 but its such a good phone and put with the pain. I want the space key back to the 1 key!

Being a leftie, this is how i text quick, normally sitting down though i note. Phone held in Right hand, between thumb and forefinger, forefinger on top of phone, thumb on bottom. Then i text like mad with my left index finger!
I do sometimes use just one hand, but i text so much slower, but its less in your face, i.e. can do hidden txt's while supposed to be working!

Just buy an e-grips (http://www.egrips.com) and apply it at the back of the phone. it will not be slipery and you will be able to hold it perfectly and using it with ease without worring about it falling down. They do not have e-grips specially for the k700 yet, but you can get a multi-purpose pack and cut it yourself. I had e-grips on my t610 as well and you can play with the phone using the tips of your fingers without woring about it sliping off your hands.

I make a couple of mistakes using the T39m initially but then there are no problems). @Paris: Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not sure that will help. Would have to try it to find out for certain though.
I guess there is no real solution, short of SE actually listening to their customers and taking the trouble to change it (in an optional firmware) or someone hacking the firmware. Both highly unlikely, and a big disappointment, because I think it's a horrible design decision ... not just aesthetically like the ones we usually argue about, but practically and ergonomically.

if i am trying to text fast, i use both thunbs, so it doesn't really make any difference to use the top left, or the bottom right. Only time when it would be handier for the number 1 key would be if i am using just one hand.

Just to compare.
On my N8850 the space is placed where 0 key is placed on K700 (close to K700 #). It works well for me. I guess 1 would be fine as
well.
