Shame it's not free & there's not even a trial version.
It doesn't even tell u much about it.
Is there a great enough threat from viruses to warrant buying it & also can a virus do anything a Format wouldn't repair?

Hmm.... virus checker for UIQ..
For what viruses do they actually check for?
Waste of money IMO.

There is only one known virus for mobile phones so far. Atleast that is what a swedish newspaper called "Aftonbladet" informed about some month ago. Too small market and way too hard to distribute.

Yeah, I think they are betting on paranoia. "If there is an antivirus program available, there must be a need for it."
Don't waste your money.

We have virus scanners for UNIX but no real viruses, but as resposible mail servers we scan emails and block/warn the 'client email' eg M$ Outlook Express. I guess as these phones are becomming more and more powerful the email and more importantly the attachment that you can receive could be infected and may not necessarily infect/propigate on your phone but you could forward this email on to another M$ email client hence spreading the virus.

But we aren't supporting hundreds of users that depend on email for many important reasons. Do you know ANYONE who has been infected with a virus on a UIQ platform?

Part of anti-virus s/w is to get you out of the crap but another part is prevention and it's the prevention/stopping the spread aspect I'm comming from.
I've also never hear of any UIQ infected phones, I can only assume the company is trying to get a foothold on the market before the dredded day.

If the company in question is trying to get a foothold they would have been far better off making the application free, that way people would have been more likely to download and install it, with the added benefit, for the company, of gaining a bit of publicity and planting their name into people's heads.
