> Changing K700i language
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I have read several posts, but cannot find a direct answer and method to solve my problem.
I have a K700i bought in HK, and I need the phone to be in French.
Question :
- Is it possible to do it myself ?
- If so what software do I need, and where can I find it ?
- Is there any cable, craddle... needed ?
Thank you for your help.

Can you not change the language to French in the settings menu on the phone?

I would suggest a visit to a Sony Ericsson service centre to see if they can put the French language on to your phone, as I am not sure if this is possible or not

I already did.
They told me they have not received the sofware yet... And at the SE Call Center, they did not say it could not be changed.
I believe they need to reflash the rom of the phone, but is there anyway to achieve this myself ?

A new language pack must be flashed onto the phone.

@zedob - Since, you quite speak fluent english language here

, I guess using the english language will suffice for the meantime until the time you are able to add the french lingo in your phone

maybe the phone ain't for him?
Yes you can change the languages, I did this on my T68 a long time back, but I had to argue with the service centre in Singapore to do it. The phone had the asian languages on it, and because of that, the font size cannot be made small in certain menus (like contact book etc). Solution was to flash with the Euro language pack rather than the asian one.
Took a week of arguing before they agreed, but they made me sign a waiver for them that they are not responsible if it screws up. Dangerous I know but anyways got it done and was fine.
