Hey all, just been searching through lots of differenbt threads about how to copy all the contacts from a P900 to the sim.

I have yet to get the answer to whether this is possible or not!

I know there is other ways such as infrared, BT, and emailing the contacts folder to a pop3 account BUT is there a simple way of copying all the conatcs from the phone memory to the sim memory like the majority of other phones allow?

Many thanks

Ok... here you get the answer.
There is no way as simple as saying.. copy all contacts to SIM.
It gets only as simple as the ways you have mentioned. Or the tougher way... copy one by one.

BTW, copy all doesnt make sense (to me at least) from a larger store to a smaller one. Of course it can be done with some logic to handle exceptional scenarios

Cheers

At least i know now that there is no 'simple' way of doing it!

I have just chosen to email the Vcard file to my other phone!

Well, it does make sense for me in one way: For instance, when I'm out and working physically, I usually use an old Nokia 6150. I wouldn't want to crusch my beloved P900 against a wall or with my knee or something like that.

I can only call select people when using the Nokia, since I refuse to spend an hour on copying all of them to SIM.

i used a t300! beamed contacts to t300(memory empty), put my sim in t300, write the contacts on my sim, then put my sim in my p900, then put original sim on t300, delete the contacts, restore original contacts from original sim.

It seems to me that have missed out on a very simple but useful feature that i for one, have been used to with all previous models.

Don't see why that can't just have an option to copy all to sim!

How hard would that be?

Maybe coz the P900 has multiple fields - 4 phone numbers, address, email, etc? guess it will be a problem to copy such a contact to the SIM... or am i wrong?

It would just mean displaying them as individual entries on the sim.

The common way that most other manufacturers achieve this is by displaying the name of the conact with a number after it. For example if you have a mobile number and landline for Scott, when copied to the sim it would be Scott1 and Scott2 etc...

I work in a phone shop and its just hassel when someone comes in with an unbacked up P900 and needs to get it sent for repair - if i could just copy the numbers to the sim quickly then give him the sim back it would be so much easier!

But sure, its still the best phone out there!

A backup on P900 would be still better I guess.
Coz when Scott becomes Scott1 and Scott2... its probably difficult to restore it back to Scott later
I guess so

Theres no doubt about it, a proper backup is much better but my point is that it would be handy to have the standard 'copy all contacts to sim' feature included on the P900.

Anyone who works with phones in retail will probably agree with this!
