We are sending you this e-mail regarding the product that you are bidding and watching on eBay.Sony Ericsson P900 Unlocked World/Triband Phone.We are able to offer you this item at a lower price( 340.00 )and in 100% working condition boxed with full papers and accesories at a lower price.We are promoting our online webstore and you have been selected for our promotional campain as a result of your interest..."

i would stay well clear, anyone who sends you emails claiming to be able to offer you a product at a lower price is dodgy

if it is such a good price why do they feel the need to email people

I would call them on the phone and ask, if they are ebay personnel. This ensures you, you are talking to someone from ebay and not someone who just pretends to be a rep. from them.

Well mind you when you click to buy an item it logs on to a secure server HTTPS. So by that if I am not mistaken means you are protected if you pay by credit card and if the item doesnt turn up then you let your credit card company deal with it.
No loss to you. But I dont think calling them will make any difference to your DOUBT...because if they are pro's they will easily fool anyone.

Goodluck.. I would have given it a go, but as I dont need a P900 il give it a miss.

That's not what https means! https just means that the data is sent encrypted from the server to you and vice vera. Normal http is not encrypted. It doesn't guarantee you in the least that you can get back your money if you have been fooled!
