> Crappy file system in the t68i
Bookmark topic
I have an ungraded t68m so I presume the same fault occurs in the t68i as well. The problem i'm having is that I will send a 3k file, in fact a 3060b file to my phone and it will prompt, 'imcoming blah... availible space 320k' so i accept and then will proceed to add another file and it will prompt 'incoming... availible space 312k'!!! What happened to that missing 5k. I appreciate that sometimes it will round figures up or down and so i could expect a difference of maybe 1 or 2k but 5!!!
Any one else notice this, anyone have any good reason?

hm.. I have not encounter this but will try it out....
anyway one thing good is that when your memory is full it will prompt MEMORY FULL ! or Low memory warning!

What exactly are you sending to your phones? Pictures? We determined a while ago that this was due to the fact that the file has to double in size because of the preview pictures.
It was on the forum somewhere, do a search.

Sometimes.... devices doesn't calculate exactly that's why your encountering those, but i think when the phone received the file it will be same size as what it is...
For Example a HD with 40.GB it will only display in your pc 37.2GB
This just shows that devices (Our phones) doesn't calculate exactly...

actually all the indicator like the memory or the standby time and talk time, it just round off and estimated figure..
guess this is the limitation in a handphone compare to PDA or laptop..
it could be less accurate

Hi
I have discovered the exact same "problem". Let me give you an example:
Let's look at the memory consumption of the standard "Welcome" MMS. If you enter MMS > Memory Status > MMS Inbox you will see that the Welcome MMS is 40 KB.
Now enter MMS > Inbox and press the menu key on Welcome. Then select information and it will show you that the MMS is 11 KB !
This phenomenon is the same with pictures, themes etc. but which is the correct value ?
Greets, Rybber...
