Unless you have a VERY good reason to, please don't buy phones from orange - they play with the firmware to make it 'easier to use'. If somebody could tell me why adding an extra camera button where the 'more' button should be when there's a camera button on the side, and removing the option for joystick shortcuts makes the k700 easier to use (i bought one earlier in the week and i am sending it back along with my contract but i am getting a new one with o2 Online 200 in the hope that they have not done similar things ) i would be very grateful. i also phoned up their customer service and a dopey woman told me that i could go to CPW and get them to flash it with the generic firmware. After making the trek to the Oxford St. CPW, they told me they couldn't do it. I phoned up Orange again and they said it wouldn't be possible to flash it. So i got angry with orange and she didnt even apologise for the misinformation. I am cancelling my contract on saturday and thereis nothing orange can do to stop me. unles they give me a free contract with a not-so-useless k700. So that's why i don't think you should buy an orange phone. they have the worst customer service in the history of ever. apart from maybe servowarm........

PS i know this has been posted somewhere else as well, but i thought it would be a better place for it.

I agree with your sentiments entirely. Orange shouldn't be messing with phones in this way. I'll be the first to get my phone flashed if this were possible. However, I really do think we need to keep things in perspective. Yes functionality has been reduced, however, I would say the phone is at least 90% useable and still a step forward in many respects to its predecessor. It just means learning the key shortcuts i.e. action key, 7, 2 for bluetooth?
