Does the P910 piss you off?

It is my opinion that the P910 isn't enough of an upgrade to actually warrant purchasing a new phone, but it pisses me off that some of these *new* features weren't part of the P900, or released as part of an update.

What makes me even more angry is that there are still problems with the P900. Is SE planning on fixing these problems? Who knows, but I feel it takes more than this to be a real upgrade.

Some of my thoughts:

- HTML Email: This should have been included in the original release, or in an update. I couldn't believe when I turned on my P900 for the first time that this was not included.

- 850 MHz, 262K colors, QWERTY: OK, these are good additions. But let's keep in mind the keyboard appears to be the size of the on-screen keyboard, which in my opinion is unusable.

- New interface: As far as I have seen, there is some confusion regarding the OS and Interface versions. Nonetheless, it looks prettier.

- Profiles: Still no support for profiles? If this is an upgrade, you'd think they'd listen to the desires of current customers. How long do we need to ask for this? There is 3rd party software out that does this; is SE trying to promote new software by not including Profiles? (If so, this is a good idea although I think it should be licensed like Opera was.)

- Megapixel Camera: Need I say more? I think any respectable upgrade would include something of this nature.

- Memory Stick Duo Pro Support (> 128MB): Its about damn time.

The P900 was a somewhat-substantial upgrade to the P800, and in some areas so is the P910. I am not talking about a lawsuit or any bullshit like that, but I do think SE, at the very least, should finish fixing the problems with the P900 before releasing a "upgrade". I feel like SE is trying to trick me at this point. I feel like they just want more of my money. (I realize this is the case with anyone, but it would seem to me that Nokia for example, releases actual upgrades versus half-ass upgrades like the P910;and I am a SE fan - not Nokia!)

What do you think? Do I sound like a P800 owner pissed at the release of the P900, or are my concerns even a little bit valid?

Yeah, i know what you mean, though i would say "pissed off" is a little strong. Clearly a lot of the technology was around when the p900 was designed, and they held it back for a money-spinning "update" but the p900 is still an excellent phone

Well, yeah. "Pissed off" is a little strong. I'm not walking around my office today screaming at my coworkers or anything...

You don't feel like they are trying to pass off a few new features as an entirely new phone?

I guess I cannot complain about the bugs in the P900 though; most of them have been ironed out. I was very pissed about the Bluetooth issues in the P900. That was complete bullshit. I question whether I'll buy another SE after this - not the P910, but the whole situation. I really feel like they are trying to take advantage of the popularity of the UIQ platform and related devices to make another quick buck. I wouldn't mind going back to Series 60; the Sendo X and Nokia 7610 are both looking very attractive now.

All I am saying is that if they are going to release an upgrade, they should substantially upgrade the phone. WiFi, Profiles, Megapixel camera, etc., etc., etc. There are a lot of features they are leaving out of this "new" model.

yeah i really agree with you.
How can SE dissapointed me....US! as SE fans???
and as we know How Much p900??? oh...my gosh?!?!?! and easily SE made P910?? with QWERTY??? with that size oh i can imagine that it's so funny.....

why SE don't make some upgrade with P900 to make us as P900 owner feel satisfied?

but i still hope that SE will provide firmware that we can use it for our P900.
so P900 can be the same as P910 of course except the QWERTY ( honestly i don't want it too )

No, I've had my P900 for 8-9 months and it does everything I want it to do. I would be more pissed off if I just had my P900 for days and an upgrade had come out and no-one warned me, but that would be my own fault not SE.
