I've been having the same battery life problems as everyone else. And then I had a
hunch that the current draw of the LCD (given its resolution) must be at least comparable to the backlight. I still don't have numbers to prove it, but I did change the phone's display from Automatic to Powersave (i.e. no clock screensaver). The phone's meter was already in the red when I did this.
Three days later, I still haven't charged it. I was previously giving it a full charge every three days.
Somebody try a full charge cycle with powersave and a full charge cycle with Automatic. I have a feeling we'll see much better battery lives.

Mines set to Automatic, so i have the clock on ( which i like ) and the phone lasts me easily 2-3 days with lots of use.
I know there is a problem with the battery meter, but mine seems much better now ive had it a few weeks.
Theres nothing wrong with the K700's battery life !

@etaab: Just cause there's nothing "wrong" with it, doesn't mean it's a good thing that I have to charge my phone every 3 days. Everything you said agrees with what I said. My point is it will be interesting to see how battery life changes if Automatic is switched to Powersave. No matter how much you use it, when you're asleep for 8 hours, why should the LCD be on?
And yes, I really like the clock too. But I prefer having longer battery life.

it's been 2 weeks since ive had my k700i, and well, if I was a heavier user of calls i would be extremely sure i wouldnt be able to get the battery to last 3 days.
Currently with a little BT transfer (often none for the last week or so), some calls (total calls for 2 weeks is less than 2 hours), a little gaming here and there and some txting, if i leave the phone to drain (since i charge nightly i guess i'd get about 2 days or so. and I'm on powersave too :-\
I wonder if my battery is faulty :-\. Going to the service centre tomorrow for the FW update anyway, might as well ask.

There is nothing wrong with the battery mers, its how long id expect it to last. Do you expect to charge the phone once a week ? once a month ? once a year even ?
Sorry, but batteries in modern phones simply dont have that capacity, you cant say that its a bad thing you have to charge your phone every 3 days when every other modern phone out there has about the same, if not less battery life.
Maybe SE should build a phone with a mini nuclear power station built inside it, so you'd never need to charge it.. just for you mers ?

The t39 has the possibility to fit a 1500 mAH battery in it. Depending on use, you have to charge only once a week or every two weeks.
Why is it not possible anymore on newer phones? Design I guess.

well mers...since the first day I've had my k700 I've noticed the short battery life and since the first day I've never used the automatic feature even if I like the clock

...I've always used the energy save option..however the battery life on my k700 is still poor cause I use a lot of blth transfer to test the themes I do, and I often take pictures with the camera...forthermore I usually do 1 hour calls a day...plus a dozen sms...plus the short battery life the battery display as you know as a bug on the most k700's out there, even mine has it...I hope the firmware update will solve this problem...kind regards

I have never understood this obsession with charging the phone as rarely as possible. What do you gain by it? Are you guys such busy people, that you often travel for a week without access to a wall socket?
Why cant people just charge the phone every night?

@etaab: It's a bad thing that I have to charge my phone every 3 days if the phone isn't using its available power efficiently. There's a difference between using power and wasting power. I want to know how much power automatic uses in comparison to powersave mode, because if it is significantly different, then automatic mode becomes a waste. This isn't that a hard concept to grasp, so stop being snide. I don't expect the battery to last a month, I just expect it its drain to be proportional to functionality and use. If that were the case, people wouldn't be complaining.

well...yes...the automatic is just a waste under my point of view...even when I don't use the phone much and I sometimes turn automatic on the battery drains faster...It's the same with animated wallpapers....they drain a significant higher amount of energy compared to static ones...
