is it possible to create a ' fake ' gprs account so that e-mail sync and integrated browser can use a desktop internet connection via Bluetooth/Craddle/IR ? i read about it some time ago, & I already searched esato, only found problems related to.. other stuff

sorry, but that's not what i meant,
it had something to do with winsockhost and maybe.. redir.sis ?
with the Pxxx connceted via BT, you started email syncronization and choose ' fake gprs ' from the list of internet accounts, and then the Pxxx would use your desktop's net connection, cable/adsl/... like a proxy not sure..

grr i jumped the thread where bowman speaks about the 'bogus' (blanck) account
already tried it, it doesn't work
i still believe it's possible and has something to do with wsockhost.mrouter
we can get the wsockhost.mrouter and localhost (PXXX) ip adresses from Quirc
erhm forget about redirect-p800.sis nothing to do with this, VNC related

i remember there being something about this a long time ago...
I'd like to see if it's that simple as now some applications won't use the PC connection (my latest Worldmate is defaulting to GPRS for example every time even while Opera is connected).

I explain how to do it with GNU/Linux on my page at
http://www.sbellon.de/p900.html
If you're using Windows, then the software provided with the phone already does set up things correctly for you when installed and started.
