I find the bottom cover of K700 very annoying, especially if you use ear-piece. This message was posted from a T630

I guess you'll have to live with it then unless you fancy taking the phone apart and seeing if it can be removed that way.

So far I haven't heard of anyone who has actually done that so I'm not sure how its connected on the inside

IŽd guess its "squeezed" between the front and back cover. I suspect that with time it will suffer the "paperclip" syndrome: bend it back and forth enough and it will break/tear..
Still, the R310s rubber was/is amazingly sturdy so who knows

I find it a little annoying as I have very short nails so it's a bit tricky to open it.

So did I the first days. I even thought it would break within a week! But now - after a month or so - a think it's great. It doesn't bother me and the quality is fine. At first I thought it was hard opening the cover and place the phone on the desktop stand for charging, but now I can almost do it in the sleep.

I think there's a chance you will change you mind. Don't cut it off just yet. Give it some time first.

I think i saw somewhere... if you do "open" the phone, it is just sandwiched at the bottom, you could remove it w/o cutting anything.

yup you dont have to cut it.. just open your phone and remove it, then you can check if its better this way and put it on if you dont like it
