> How do I install the Dss-20?
Bookmark topic
When I plug it in to the USB port it detects new hardware and asks me to install. Now it came with no software CD - just the syncstation. Does it require an installation? I tried using the CD I got with my K700i but that didn't work.
What do I do?!?
Please help:(

Here is the support page where you can download the driver.

Right, the DSS-20 appears to have been installed correctly.
Now when I put my K700i on it, it does nothing. It says there is no connection...
There was no response from my phone when it was placed on the DSS-20 and there was no response from the computer either.
Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

have you installed the K700 sync software?
what exactly do you want to do with your phone when its connected to the pc?

I was wanting to sync with Outlook Express as well as transferring images and mp3s to my phone.
The sync software is installed.
I just don't seem to be getting a connection...

unfortunately the K700 sync software doesn't support outlook express, only outlook
assuming you have installed the K700 sync suite anyway you will need to go to control panel and open "Phone monitor options" (also known as mobile phone monitor) and enable the com port that was created for the USB sync station.
in that way the phone will be recognised.
if you haven't got the K700 sync suite installed then you can install the mobile phone monitor separately from
here
you can then download the
Sony Ericsson File Manager and install which will place an icon on the desktop called "My Phones" and this gives you a windows explorer like interface to the files on your phone for drag and drop both ways

I would also add that the green Sony Ericsson light at the front is not lighting up so it appears I have some sort of problem.
C'mon someone - help me out!

First of all Masseur, thanks very much for your help thus far.
I'm getting there!
I appear to now have a connection (though the SE logo at the front, strangely, still isn't lighting up - maybe it's not supposed to...?). I already have the full K700i CD PC Suite installed and have loaded up the File Manager.
My next problem is thus - How do I transfer MP3s and Pictures to the K700i? For instance, do you know what size pictures and MP3s have to be in order to transfer them? I haven't seen much about this in the K700i instruction book.
Any help you could offer would be further appreciated!
This forum is excellent by the way
