What is the best thing to do ?

format it on the phone...

but then how does it work about transfering apps and the like ?

i currently have a 16meg stick, when i take this out the apps still seem to be on the list ?? so do i need to reinstall all the apps again ?

sorry for the stupid sounding question...

as will buy the 128meg stick soon from ebuyer

If the apps are still on the list, they are probably installed on the phone's memory, not the memory stick.

I formatted my memory stick last week and all the apps that were on it dissapeared from the menu afterwards and everything works smoothly.

if you put it in a computer doesn't the computer format it and you lose everything that was on it like ALL my mp3s?

Only if you ask the computer to format it.
Otherwise your MP3's will be safe, you can even play them on the PC.

Isn't it best just to check the apps installed, uninstall them, insert the new stick and then reinstall them? Just to be sure...

You can do it that way Draxken, but I tend to forget where I installed apps after a few weeks. So they could be on the phone memory or the memory card.
Uninstalling them is the best way as that should remove any system files the apps created or used. But most uninstall scripts are badly written and still leave a load of junk files of directories on your phone, which you have to delete manually with a file manager if you don't like clutter.
So that's why I prefer just formatting the memory stick. But I always back it up first, just in case.

Of course, you could always remove the stick and see which items disappear from the app list...
