Bookmark topic
Hi!
I got my P900 today, and when I transfer data to the device it goes sooo slow, like 1Mb/minute.
Is't suposed to be like this?
I use the syncstation.

Yep, USB is slow. I recommend getting an external card reader, which will allow you to transfer files to and from you memory stick much faster. Its on my to 'buy list'.

How about blue tooth dongle. How fast will it be?.
Also will there be any difference in the transfer rates if we use just the USB cable (not the DSS stand)?

Check your settings at Control panel>Connections>Cable and set Baud Rate to 460800.

My question was howz the transfer speed in comparison?. I have this pen drive which can take or give 128 in less than a minute. However the DSS sysnc station is 30 min for 30 MB!. Too slow,
so options are:
1. Blue tooth dongle.
2. Irda.
3. USB cable (Not one that comes with the sync station).
Which one is the best.

a usb 2.0 ms card reader is quickest, takes me 90 seconds to transfer 100mb. use the syncstation for backup and restore, infared and cable and bluetooth are only any good for small files etc

Mine surely does faster than that.
I have noticed many users are complaining with this issue.

I use a PCMCIA card reader in my laptop, that's pretty speedy. A full MemoryStick (~123Mb) takes under a minute to copy.
Not too expensive from Amazon...

Well, I have the same problem. I have USB 2.0 ports on my laptop. But when I use the SyncStation, transfer is slow. So I got me an extarnal card reader (CF, SD, MMS, ...) for USB 2.0 and it works fine!

i have a usb 2.0 card reader and bluetooth and ir and the syncstation so here's the speed results:
1.card reader-the ultimate winner, fast and reliable
2.syncstation-i know it's kinda slow but it's kinda the same as bt and it's more simple at least in my opinion
3.bt- excellent for surfing via adsl
4.ir- excellent for small files (ringtone, pics)
that's the way i would choose it, and btw the prices i paid were the same for all three things (around 30$)
