I am having problems trying to connect my T68i to my pc using bluetooth.

I am running WindowsXP with a Sitecom USB bluetooth dongle.
I have managed to pair the pc with the phone, and have given permissions on the PC for the phone to access all services, however the phone monitor and outlook sync software dont detect the phone.

I have tried opening a serial connection (both phone and pc show that the link is active), and it then tells me that it has created a port (COM6) that I should tell the applications to use - however they still dont detect the phone.

Do I need to create an account/permissions on the phone?

Any ideas? - I have looked through the other posts, but havent seen anything like this

regards

You have enabled COM6 on windows control panel -> phone monitor options ?

Yes I have set it to enabled and reserved.

I managed to find an old thread that says that might be something to do with the PC drivers not supporting "service class filtering", and that I need to download the Tecom (generic) Bluetooth drivers. However the driver files are no longer listed at the Tecom site.

Any further ideas? (or can someone tell me where I can get another driver?)

regards

Is your phone visible - did you pair them?

disable the firewall, perhaps?

For new driver, you can try here... need some hacking of the files, though.

You can verify whether COM6 is indeed working by going into Accessories -> Communications -> Hyperterminal Terminal -> cancel -> File -> Properties -> Connect Using -> COM6 -> OK, (starting a connection with COM6 ), then issue these commands

ATZ
ATI
ATI1

You should be able to get response after entering ATI

Thanks.

The phone is still not visible to phone monitor etc. But it does work with Float's mobile agent (after installing IBM's widcomm bt drivers).

Unfortunately it's not helping me in getting pictures from my camera to my PC, but I think I will just try emailing them to myself instead.

Thanks for the help guys

If you have infrared you can beam them over to your PC. Does your software support the Bluetooth syncronisation profile?
