Maximu contact pix size that display without resize on K700 is 148 x 124.

There is different maximum pix size shown on K700 when you call out, recieve call and when you taking. 148x124 is the smallesst size of this 3 modes. So I will not crop or resize in every screen.

It took me a lot of time to figure it out. Hope it will be useful for you.

In my tests, I have found the optimum size for Caller ID pics to be 144 x 144.

Also, if you save them as PNG file with a transparent background (i.e. the callers head cut-out from the background), when the picture appears it will be nicely composited over the theme background. Looks cool.

148x124 is the largest contact pic. size that can be displayed without resizing on all screen that use contact picture.

148x124 does not fit the box anyway, but if you use larger picture it will resize down and not fit the box anyway (and resize algorithm in phone is not as good as the one in photoshop, it reduce quality very much) So make the picture that can be displayed 1:1 is the good idea.

148x124 is the optimum size because it the largest one which is resized in the screen that used contact pic.

P.S. Actually, the 148x124 pic will be resized in contact "view & edit" screen, but who cares for that sceen.

144x144 pic. will get resized when you make a call (the screen with moving progress bar) and also when that person recieve your call)

The pic attached is 144x144 gif file, you can try this one.

P.S. this type of pattern you will see the resize very clearly. (in normal pic, sometime it it hard to see)

If you want max size for call-in screen ONLY, use 149x144. It is the max size K700 can display without resizing in call-in screen.

It look nice (without resizing artifact) when this contact call you. But when you call him and in the talk screen.

You should try my sample. Here is the sample for 149x144.
[edit: sample removed]

Edit: Sorry, the largest pix size for "Call-In" screen is 148x144 not 149x144

after all, i think 148 x 124 looks the best, even its a bit small when call in but its looks great when you calling someone.

149x144 look ok but ppl call in but dont look good in call out...
