Ok Ive read numerous threads and posts about checking firmware and its >*
BUT whenever I do this on my K700, all it does is bring up my shortcuts when i nudge the joystick. What am I missing here?

and if you are seeing shortcust then it sounds like you are starting with a left joystick movement instead of a right one

On the K700i (and indeed the T610 before it) I always pressed * FIRST before doing the joystick movements and that always worked.
Try that perhaps...

Never mind what you see during all that joystick movements. It's at the end that you'll see the service menu.

thanks guys, maybe im a little bit cleverer than i thought. By the way masseur, Ive also got a shortcut on the right. when I nudge it right, My profiles come up, which I guess is similar to the nokia when you press the power button. Anyhoo, cheers fellow esato members. Great help as always.
