Hi all,

I did a search and found a few posts saying it's safe to remove memory stick from a P900 when it's switched on, but, is that still the case if most of the apps are installed on it? I find the phone's internal memory far too small to keep all my apps on it, and therefore install most of them on the memory stick.

What if an app is running and I take the memory stick out? Won't the phone crash? And I might lose some data, or it might get corrupted?

How do you guys deal with this? Do you install everything on your phone's memory, and just use memory stick for mp3s, data, etc?

I have a feeling I'm not doing something right here...

Once an app is running it's fine to take the card out. The app loads it's who program into the phone's RAM memory.

Thanks guys. I'll take your word for it. Still a bit concerned to try though... Oh well.

Just tried it. Every app that was running (and that is installed on the memory stick) closed down when I took the memory stick out.

Does that mean: Then the app is installed on the mem stick you cannot take it out otherwise the app will shut down. It the app is not installed on the MSD, then you can take it out and switch to another MSD.

Are you asking me a question or making a statement?

In my initial post, I expressed concern about taking out the memory stick while apps installed on it might be running, but was assured by several people here that it should be fine doing that, that the apps load into the phone's memory and that it's ok to take the memory stick out even when some are running (if I correctly understood what those several people said).

I then tested this and took the memory stick out with some apps installed on it running, and they immediately closed and/or crashed.

So, what's the verdict?

use sman - http://renegade.w3xs.com - to 'flush' the programs running then take out the memory stick. This message was posted from a P900
