is there any easy way of using K700i as a gprs-modem on my laptop?
Via IR, Bluetooth or do i need a cable?

I have ordered a K700i and will be leaving on vacation when i recieve it, but want to use it as a gprs-modem, so i ask you guys up-front to help me cause i know it is not always easy setting up this stuff.

I live in Norway and will be using Telenor.

If this has been answered before, please point me in the right direction.

dial-up number is *99***n#

N= CID number, usually 1 (*99***1#)

The first answer you got is basically correct, but it assumes your phone's first GPRS account has APN 'internet' (for Telenor Mobil). I would recomment you use Telenor Mobil's automatic setup (http://telenormobil.no). They don't support the K700 yet, but the P800 settings should work (in my experience). Select "Internet" for the first settings to receive, then WAP and GPRS. It is important that "Internet" is first.

_Then_ you can just dial *99***1# with your K700i as a modem. No other modem settings are necessary.

You might want to check www.sonyericsson.com ("Support" link) for modem drivers and information.

Its the bluetooth drivers to install (plus a program for managing ur bluetooth) so you can set up the dial-up networking

One error in my previous post:

"...then WAP and GPRS" should have been "...then WAP and MMS".

If you do not have access to the 'Net when you get your phone, please post here ASAP, and I'll dig up the manual settings from my phone...

i installed the latest widcomm, so my bluetooth works fine.. im currently using the nokia 6230, but i guess it works about the same way. i try to connect to the internet through it, and i get a connection, but nothing really seem to work?

im using *99***1# as the "number" to dial and "internet" as apn on my activated wap-account. Or should it be the first in the list? the one at the top?

If the account is a WAP-account, you are going to get trouble. You cannot connect your PC to the Internet through the WAP Gateway of your service provider.

The first account in the list is probably the one with CID=1. If you want to use that account, you would dial *99***1#.
If your account with APN="internet" is number 3 in the list, it probably has CID=3, and you would want to dial *99***3#.
