it may be tricky to do it, but winamp has many plugins with ogg support (has had ogg support for years) This message was posted from a WAP device

Download DBPowerAmp once thats installed click on the desktop icon and it'll immediately ask you to find a file you'd like to convert just go to where your mp3 files are click the track you want to covert to .ogg vorbis and dbpower amp will bring up another menu:at the top - what conversion you want
2ndly: what bit rate you want Keep it on 64kbps(it compacts your mp3's without loosing quality) thus saving you alot of space on your phone, 3rd'ly - where you want the file to be saved to (just create a new file somewhere that you can save all your converted files)
check the volume normalize box, check the preserve id tags, remeber NOT to delete the source files after conversion. and away you go!
Once completed you HAVE to drag and drop the ogg files into the DOCUMENTS tag on your phone in either Phone memory or Memory Card, once they've been installed you have to then go to ogg player on your phone and click find files .... it will automatically search and find the files for you to play! JOB DONE. hope that helps you.

IMO, ogg doesn't really compress better than mp3. Ogg vorbis uses a better psycho-acoustic model and a smarter bitrate analysis routine compared to mp3s (even with best quality VBR) that's why it can reproduce a better sounding output at lower bitrates (average) compared to mp3s.

you can also use CDex to convert mp3s to Ogg Vorbis or vice versa.

I am always converting to ogg for my p900. Better than mp3.
And I'm experiencing that the files are about an average of 60-80% smaller in size... that means more songs in the phone, faster transfer to phone.
And the quality os good enough when using a phone for jukebox.
