> Free internet on laptop using P900?!
Bookmark topic
I am fortunate to have Orange's discontinued open-access package on my account.
I am using my P900 as a GPRS modem to connect to the web on my laptop - and it is working!
My question is, will my GPRS usage be included in my open-access package and thus cost me nothing?
I have even deleted the GPRS internet settings from my phone and it still works!

- just to clarify the above, I want to know if I am accessing the WEB on my laptop using Orange's WAP portal.
Thanks!

you'll have a huge bill.... they see the logs and the page accessed, also the browser and device(pc). So when you browse on p900 is ok but for pc they will charge u.

Why am I not charged then when I access web pages on the P900's browser, surely those are also logged?

You must make sure that you are using the orangewap apn and not the orangeinternet one. Anything through orangewap will be included in the Open Access package but anything using orangeinternet will be charged.
You should also be aware that orangewap only allows access to web pages through the orange wap gateway.
One final thing is that Orange have a fair use policy of 10MB/month with Open Access.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it.
How come it works to access WEB pages through a WAP portal? It doesn't make sense!
Also I have noticed that Orange do not monitor fair usage as I have used more than 50mb per month on it and not heard from them!
Keep well!

Does anyone else use the open access package for web use?
Don't Orange realise that their internet portal is redundant if the wap one works for it?!
The open access package is amazing!
