I dropped my keypad/screen face first in a puddle of mud at the Glastonbury festival at the end of June... clever I know. Whilst most of the mud dried and fell off between the keys and joystick there's still some mud behind the keys which becomes somewhat obvious when the backlight comes on. I'm not overly bothered as the phone works perfectly well and I'd rather not spend money getting someone to clean it. Any advice?

You should open it and dry all the mud/crap from under the keys, cos it might harm the circuits in the long run (mud contains water) This message was posted from a Z1010

It was a month ago so mud being wet is not really that much of a concern now. I was more interested in the aesethetic problem. Taking the phone apart is delving into further dangerous terrority...

CPW might do it too, if you ask them nicely.

Make sure your local CPW has a repairs service, check with their websites store locator or give them a call.

I had a lucky escape with my K700 the other day. There i was having a pee, and i dropped it mid-pee, into the toilet - almost.

It hit the rim and bounced.. and fell on the toilet floor. No damage either, thanks to my superb case.

it's obvious that you should open it and clean it from the inside,but if you have a warrenty just take it to a SE center if you don't want to lose it

SE phones are good with that type of thing. I went swimming with my p800 in my pocket and after it dried it was fine

No, i wasnt talking on my K700 at the time (why it was in its full-body case). It was actually on my belt, but when i opened my belt to pee it slid off it !

lol - that actually happened to me at one time to with a T310 I had - only I werent as lucky as you - mine fell in with a big splash.

Now what was I to do - after a minut or 2 of very heavy cursing - I desided to flush hoping the phone would be to heavy/big to flush out - or get stuck somewhere in the plumming.

Well - it didnt flush out - I picked it up - rinsed it for like 5 minuttes - completely dismantled it - and rinsed everything for another 5 minuttes - then rinsed everything in destilled water - dubbed the most water of it with a cloth and finally left it on another cloth for 3 days to dry up in a tempered room.

Reassemled the phone - and with my hart pounding tried turning it on.

Pling - everything was working just fine - and still did more than 6 months later where I finally sold it.
