Where in ? in SMS messages ?
In SMS, Notes.. pretty much anywhere you can add text press MORE, followed by ADD SYMBOL and the £ is in there.
Unless you have an imported Asian phone, which might have the £ changed for a yen sign or something like that.. i dunno
