I'm not sure, but I think you may have a phone with a screen too small for this game. I have a Motorola C385 (128x128 pixels) and I also couldn't pass that level.
But, if you want to finish it, just download J2ME Wireless Toolkit from www.sun.com and play it in the emulator (Start->Programs->J2ME Wireless Toolkit->Run MIDP Application).
You'll see how easy is there, because you have a much bigger screen
