I am having some problems changing my sms alert tones I wanted to use the ones with my downloaded tones in mp3 formats Unlike with my Nokia 7610 wherein I can literally 'jumble' all the tones I want for sms/ring . . . just can be found in one folder Looks like sms and ring tones for the K700i model have separate folders, and I am just limited to the 6 choices under default. If I can only choose also the ones which has a default setting in my ringtones folder as well, like - the Baby, Coo-Coo and Morse - to make it as my sms alert tones What gives here mates Many thanks!

yes, as mentioned many times you are limited to the SMS tones you can see.

if you could change the sms tone to one of your choice there would be an option there for it

one day will listen to what the people want

@masseur - So, there's really no hope here mate As I read in the 2nd paragraph or your reply, saying: "If you can change your tones in it, then you have an option" . . . but how Cheers!

sorry if I wasn't clear... what I meant was that if the possibly existed to set your own sound for the SMS tone then the option for that would be in the screen where you currently select the fixed tones, but it isn't there

btw this question is also answered in the Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style)

I think what masseur meant was if it could be done on that phone you'd be able to easily see how to do it

Edit: too slow
