> t610 ssh test?

I am the happy ;/ owner of a S55, planning to buy a t610.
The only problem is that I need to know if my favorite java prog (SSH client) will work on it. On the site it only mentions the Siemens phones, and I dont suppose the sales ppl at the mobile store will allow me d/l the app to test it...
Any Ideas?
The app is the mobish ssh client (www.mobish.com).

I don't know of this app you are talking about but since T610 is a midp1.0 phone, it is not "possible" to create a socket which would be needed for a ssh client. T610 does however support http-sockets (have not tried) so http-traffic can be sent. However I've heard that it is possible to access the internal socket class in the T610 so it should be possible to write a ssh-client anyway. This socket class is not available in the midp1.0 api though. Maybe someone else have tried this and can confirm?

just downloaded and tried the app on t610, and you get an invalid application error as soon as you send it to the phone, so i am afraid it doesn't work
however it does seem to load up on a k700, but i havn't tried to access any severs

Yes,thats possible. I have both phones and know that lot of games and applications of Sie s55 doesnt work with
T610

I tried the ssh - client "Floyd", but it wasn't for me. On a mobile with that limited "keypad", I prefer having input on the same screen as the output, so I can use autocompletion and history and get the feedback instantly. Also, editing text (vi) on those kind of clients (including symbian progs) are....eh...challenging. I end up tearing my hair and grinding my teeths in frustration... No, it either has to be mobish, or a "proper" client with a "proper" keyboard (a la PC).
I'll see if I can get my hands on a t630 and try it.

I'll "have" to get myself the K700 then....
It's pretty good looking as well.... I'll prob have to intimidate the salesman into downloading mobish and try it.....or stay with my tiny (screen-wise) S55.
