Hi!

Has anybody else experienced the following? All comments are welcome.

Recently I travelled from Estonia to Italia and back by bus. My T68i and my friend's T65 were capable to find GPRS in Latvia and Lithuania (in first two countries).

But from Poland to Czech, Austria and Italia our phones lost the GPRS. Phones said that GPRS is not allowed or there is no GPRS at all.

Yes, I know, that in some cases it's true. But our home-operator EMT has also few GPRS-roaming agreements. So, it's not this kind problem.

In the past I have experienced the problem also in my neighbour country Latvia.

THIS GPRS-PROBLEM APPEARS ONLY, when my phone is constantly "on".

If I switch the phone off and then on again (travelling by plane), the phone finds also GPRS.

See if the operator you where using had agreements with your home operator. Other than that when I travel in France it sometimes loose the signal and reconnects or I search manually for another network and I have it back

Not all operators have GPRS roaming agreements with all other operators. You might just have been unlucky on your trip: Your phone might have chosen, each time it switched network, an operator that did not have a GPRS roaming agreement with your operator.

U have to ask your operator with which operators u can access gprs or u might try ur luck by switching over to other networks manually

Thank you all for comments! But as I said it's not an issue that my operator does not have GPRS-roaming. My phone T68i and my friend's phone T65 were not capable of finding GPRS also in the networks, which support GPRS-roaming with my operator.

To Plasmadog - your comment was right. The switching phone off and on usually helps to find GPRS again. I have experienced that technique before. But I was just curious: I wanted to see whether my phone finally finds GPRS or not. And it did not (also T65).

Even when we arrived in our homeland Estonia, the phones claimed that there is no GPRS at all. So it lasted couple of days until battery ran empty. After switching on again, the GPRS was back.

To Ayush - I tried to select networks manually, but it did not help.

To Bobafett - I know the costs of GPRS abroad. Indeed, in some cases it's very expensive. I did not want to surf in Itay like a lunatic

Just wanted to see when GPRS is back and maybe just to try a bit.

To Jim - thanks for sharing your experience in France.

SO I SIMPLY WANTED to hear whether anyone has experienced that kind of problem when travelling to another country. This problem does not appear when you travel by plane, because then you have to switch your phone off and on.
