bit of a pain, lucky i get about eight and a half hours of free wap then. But the gprs is much better when using the k700 as a modem for My ipaq. 915000 is very slow when connected over BT and loading 200k+ web pages

Out of interest, what is the practical bandwidth of BT anyway?...

i have had it at 115K a sec when connected to my PC, yet it seemed slower than normal 56k dial up.

Is the phone actuall capable, hardware -wise, to deal with that kind of throughput...

In theory then, I suppose bluetooth adaptors could be a cost effective way of networking computers in a single room or in adjoinging rooms at least, as opposed to wifi...

(I only say this as I have more than one BT adaptor, and a couple of computers near each other, would be neater than cabling too...)

yeah BT would be a good way of networking 2 computers, especially if both comps have a 100m BT dongol. You can get speeds of upto 30k a sec when transfering files via bluetooth as i do it from PC to Laptop. Although cables would be faster, BT is a lot neater and saves buying LAN cards + Cables etc, and BT at 30k a sec is fast enough, unless you want to quickly transfer 10mb+ files.

I generally prfer cabling, but the garish colours of the damn stuff just makes it so hard to hide on the skirting board - and I refuse to even try running it down the stairs since it won't bed properly... ... I could repaint to match but I don't particularly fancy pink or yellow skirting boards, and gray just looks so last year ! lol

I could spend money and get Wifi, but there ain't a point in that if I can do it for bugger all... ok, so it's a little tardy, but ok for small files and limited net sharing i suppose...

I would like to thank the contributors to this topic for the idea, particularly the poster above this one, for saving me the best part of a hundred or so quid (router, usb, pci, pcmcia cards etc)... Cheers c[_]
