Hi All,

Could anyone pls show mw how I can read a text (*.txt) file tha I have created using notepad to be read on the K700i please.

This is what I have done.

a. creat a simple text file
b. IR over to the K700i and it saved it under others folder
c. I can see the name of the file but no option to view what's inside of the file.

Do I need to save the file in an another extension so that the K700i can recognise that it's just a simple txt file so that I can view it?

any tips greatly appreciated.

TIA.

If I were you, I would try to save the Notepad file as a Note in Outlook, and then synchronize with the phone. Then, maybe you can read the file as a note?

I'm having the same problem. I want to read an e-book I have (simple .txt file) but the K700i won't let me view it. I'll try the Outlook note idea when I get home. Hope I can bookmark the pages somehow, I don't think scrolling 200 pages everytime I want a quick read would do me any good

there are java apps that let you put the text inside the jar file before sending it to the phone, and then you can read it

You can not read a text file on the K700. You can store a file but not read it. Consider the K700 as portable memory in that respect.

Excellent! Thanks everyone. Hopefully with one of these pieces of software the K700i can become my perfect phone (apart from mega-pixel cam ).
