hi guys,

i am using switcher to monitor my RAM usuage.

this is what switcher shows..

. flipkeypad 48k
. switcher 48k
. handy day 236k
. applications 112k
. phone 1064k
. beamer 68k
. appicker 72k

they add up to 1648k, but switcher shows i have 3284k free? aren't they suppose to add up to close to 16M and why am i missing abuot 10M of RAM?

why is the phone uses 1064k?

also, if i start my phone with NO other 3rd party applications whatsoever, what is the normal RAM usage?

would someone shed some light here?

@titus,

i can understand the OS takes up a fair amount of RAM. Since Switcher does not report the OS usage, does other app like Sman provide such info?

other people in the forum report having 8M free RAM, and iven i am only running two 3rd party apps (handy day & switcher), shouldn't i have about 7M free RAM and not 3.5M?

@sc26,

are you running other 3rd party apps? would you post what Sman display, like apps and their usage. it's hard to believe the OS is taking up 10M on my unit.

thanks!
