> k700i or 6230, which rf is better?

Has anyone here had the opportunity to compare the rf strength between the k700i and 6230?
If so, was the k700 better, worse, or about the same as the 6230.

Look mate, I did a search before I posted. A search of k700i 6230 rf returns 854 topics. I went through a few and saw nothing.
Care to do something constructive and point me to the correct thread?

Minus the 'BUGS' + fast draining battery life with that of the SE K700i, then I'll go for that, though reality bites! So, I guess, I'll just go for the Nokia 6230 here

Both phones have the good points. If your gonna use the mp3 player alot then nokia is best bet coz of the exchangeable memory cards. If you need a light on camera, then go for SE. Think thats the easiest way to decide! :-)

Hard to tell really my wife and I are on O2, both have joined in the last 3 months so sim cards are new as are the phones. SE only has 5 bars for reception whereas Nokia has 8 or somthing. In our home, the Nokia is 1-2 bars down when the SE is on full. In reality I doubt there is much difference. COngratulations to SE for finally improving their RF, especially after my experience with the otherwise great T68i and T610.

sunnychad, thank you for taking the time to actually read my question and giving me a pertinent reply. I finally had enough reading reviews, comments, and threads and went ahead a little earlier today and bought the k700i along with a bunch of other accessories.
I am aware of all the warts of the k700i, but hope the pluses outweigh the minuses. I'm guessing it is just going to get better with each firmware update. I'll be sure and condition the battery properly. Hopefully that will add some additional life. But hey, I have a home charger, a car charger and a bluetooth headset, so i don't see battery life as being too much of a problem.

RF is just as good on K700 as on 6230 - i know this from real life.
Allways remember one thing when comparing - the RF meter does not really give an exact meassure of RF - its only an indicator - and are not comparable on two different devices. Firstly one meter has 8 levels the other only 5 levels - secondly the parameters for each level are different between manufactures - 2 levels might not mean the same on one device as on another. That depends on what the manufacturer desided it should be. Im not saying they did - but Nokia could have desided to show 5 levels signalstrength on the meter even on a very low signalstrength - where S//E could have desided that you need a higher signalstrength before showing 3 levels on the meter. Its only an indicator - the only real way of comparing is real life phoning and Ive had times where my K700 would make contact and the 6230 would not - and other times where the 6230 would make contact and the K700 would not - completely regardles of what the meter was showing on the phones. In real life situations I would say RF is the same on these 2 phones - none is better than the other.

TheRealSpawn, yea, I had the difference in meter displays in the back of my mind. My previous Nokias (6610, 6220) were I think average to above average in RF strength. Compared with other phones, I'd say the Nokia meter "accuracy" was fairly accurate. I've got 2 good datapoints to compare my current 6220 and the k700i when it comes in. My home gets on average about 90% signal and work, which fluctuates between 0 and 20%.
