Ok, I know there have been millions of K700i posts on here already, but I have read many and there was no mention of the problem that I have. I registered just so I could share this with everyone, on the off chance someone else had the same problem.

Got my new K700i a couple of days ago. Charged it up and it was working fine, was even transferring files to and fro using BlueTooth. Had a couple of crash incidents, all of which were resolved by turning it off and on again or by pulling out the battery (hardly ideal, but tolerable til a firmware upgrade could be implemented). Then one crash occurred where i had to pull the battery out, turned the phone back on and it froze a split second after my background picture appeared, rendering the phone completely useless. Everytime i turn it on it instantly freezes!! The only thing I can think that is causing it is something to do with BT, as it was having difficulties with this before it crashed.

Somehow it managed to rectify itself and began to work again (was too scared to try BT tho), then it crashed again and now I'm back to the freezing situation. I will be getting a replacement next week, but fail to see how it's going to be any different. The phone software is full of bugs!!

Has anyone else experienced anything like this??

When it freezes up, have you tried putting the phone on charge ?

Its worked for me in the past with my T610. But where the K700 is concerened, im pretty much problem free.

I thought I'd tried everything, but I hadn't tried that. Unfortunately it didn't do anything. Thanks for the advice tho!!

Actually, after a couple of minutes of trying (left my phone on afterwards - not on charge), it seems to have worked. How does the charger help? or is it pure coincidence? Should I still get a new handset?

I have a BT-related freezing-experience, but only when using the phone with the HBH-60 headset. I had to stop using this combo when I realized I sometimes had to pull the battery to end a call...

Other than that, I have no freezing- or BT-related problems. I use BT with other phones and a couple of PCs.

This is not just a normal firmwarebug

Ive had my K700 more than a month - hasnt frozen one single time.
Using BT to connect to my desktoppc, my laptop, my T610, my Ipaq, my Logitech headset - and everything is fine.

There are some BT issues that are firmwarerelated - some has reported bt problems specifically with some S//E headsets - so its not like Im saying theres no problems just because I havent had any.
But I think the way you describe your problems sound way to serious to simply be some of the normal small firmwarebugs. Sounds more like a bad phone to me.

Ok, my phone is operational again (just). I can turn it on without it instantly freezing anyway. I've even managed to transfer some pictures from my PC using BT. There is still a lag almost every time i use the phone, this occurs when doing something as demanding as BT connectivity or as simple as navigating the main menu. Also, if the phone is to crash and the solution is to put it on charge, it's hardly ideal when I am away from a charger. So I will still be seeking a replacement next week, and will definitely be getting a much needed firmware upgrade (i wish SE would put their update site back online!!).

Though that 'freezing' thing 'still' does not happen to me or even the worst things to the extent that I have to remove the battery to have the fone start working again . I am just experiencing some recurring problemos with my menu's icons , the 2 positioned on the uppermost left and the one beside it on the right keeps on 'disappearing' whenever (ratio of 1:4) I use the camera/video , I still have to turn the power 'off' and then 'on' again to have those 2 morons back !

Well, have you noticed some problemos with the SE K700i's 'signal' problem I know that this concern is more on the network provider issue but many of my friends were saying back there that Nokia has much (far) better (network) signal reception compared to that of SE fone models . . . comentaryos amigos por pabor . . .

I got my k700 yesterday,I love this metal body
but 2 weird things occured:
-when charching,ALL the time the keyboard was light
-While using the flash under camera,after 1 min the screen went white for a couple of seconds and then return to normal :s
