Hi,

Been looking around the various websites for the cheapest contract deal that gives me anytime Xnet minutes and texts, the cheapest i have found is the Vodafone Online anytime 100. Unfortunately the only place that does this is the vodafone website, is there any possibility of getting this from anywhere else, or an unbranded phone from Vodaphone?
[Edit]: Or if you wish to suggest an alternative, please do
Cheers

Jab

i tried the search, didnt find much, but apologise if this has been already questionned or if it is in the wrong forum.

Just to continue this I have just recieved an email from Vodafone UK, stating that in the future the MP3 ringtone service will not be barred when the next software release comes out.

Not entirely sure whether this is going to happen, or whether it is only going to be able to be used with legal MP3's.

my email:

I am interested in buying the 12
month Anytime Online 100+50texts.
I wish to get this tariff with the
Sony Ericsson K700. Unfortunately
i have heard that you have
disabled certain features on this
phone. Is there any possibility
of getting a phone that does not
have the MP3 ringtone use barred?

the email reply:

Dear Jonathan

Thank you for your mail

I have checked the information and we have been informed that In
future, software releases this function will be made available,
you will be made aware when new software versions are launched.

We do not have a timescale for when the phone with the new
software versions are to be released.

Hope this is helpful

Kind Regards

Although it is good that they are going to let people use MP3s as ringtones on Vodafone live K700s they will still have the horrible Vodafone live software on them that you cant get rid of. They will not give you an unbranded phone. If only they listened to their customers.
Good Luck anyway.

No problem getting an unbranded K700 on a Vodafone contract from a high street store.

I bought mine last week from The Link. I could have also bought it from Carphone Warehouse (more expensive) and Phones4U (cheaper, but they sign you up to Vodafone Singlepoint, which is unpopular here).

The deal I got from the Link was:

Free phone with Anytime 250 + 100 texts a month on Vodafone Connect.

The Anytime 250 package is half price for first 3 months (so £15 instead of £30), the texts are £6 a month. I can change my tariff to Anytime 100 (£22) after 4 months.

So I'll be paying:

Month 1: £21
Month 2: £21
Month 3: £21
Month 4: £36
Month 5: £28

And then £28 for subsequent months.

My phone came in a Sony Ericsson box, has no Vodafone stickers, and no Vodafone software.

If you really want the 100 mintues, O2 have a online tarrif that includes 500 free texts.

Also, if you want some MMS messages with that, you can always get 400 sms with 25 mms, 300 sms with 50 mms, 200 sms with 75 mms, 100 sms with 100 mms, or just 125 mms.

There is also 1/2 a MB of GPRS, so you can download the odd game/ringtone and it not costing a bomb!

With a free K700 the tarrif is £25 a month.

Heres the Tarrif details
