hey
i was just wondering if its possible to remove the screen from my p800 - and if it is, how easy is it to do, or am i likely to break it? coz theres lots of lil dots on the bottom right hand corner of my screen and i cant tell if its dust or if the screen is damaged, but if the screen is easy to remove i might have a lil look coz its annoyin me

its pretty simple operation! Just on screw the four screws(from memory!) two under the battery cover and two under the cover never the camera, which just flicks off with your fingernails.
Then a few unclicks of the two pices of plastic, the front and back cover. Then pull the main board out with is connected to the screen. Pull the plug and remove, or thou I think there is another screw or two on the mainboard, but I think that is for the heat plate!
its been a while!
But its easy and you will have no problem

Main things you MUST know:
When u separate the front & back covers DO NOT just pull them apart!!!
There is a circuit ribbon from the jogdial in the back case to the main circuit in the front so u must carefully pull the contact apart first.
U don't need to unscrew the small screws on the circuit so just leave those.
You should see a sort of chip connecting round one side & onto the circuit board, this is the link for the screen.
The board & screen are just held in by the sides of the housing so gently push them out to the sides & push the screen & board towards you.
BUT if your main aim is to try remove dust from under the screen DON'T BOTHER!!! You can't get at it. The screen & the outer surface are one complete unit which you cannot disassemble!
If it's blown pixels there's nothing you can do anyway.
Hope that makes sense
Mik
