Opera is a browser it doesnt dictate which connection to use, Opera will initialize the preferred Internet account.

although a wap data account worked fine using the internal browser, as did a normal internet data account, I was never able to make opera work via the wap data account, only via an internet data account
I always assumed it was some limitation in wap gateways in the same way you generally cannot get standard pop3 or smtp email to work via wap (unless the wap provider provides access as part of their wap service)

masseur you're right!
....at the moment WAP browsing is not allowed in Opera!
A friend of mine (on newsmobile.it forum) had found a proxy solution
Seems to be work with the host: 10.128.201.76 port 80 on an Italian Vodafone account....unfortunally still doesn't work for messengers and email...but sounds cool enough for me...
Is there anybody knows any solutions about it?

Your missin the point, opera does support dialup connections, but if ur provider does not allow access to web sites via http protocols it wont work. Opera itself works I can use it on o2 wap, good way to test is to input ur network ip in proxy & port 80 or 8080.

Ur right Titus, thats the way Im using "internet". My ISP offers WAP for free so I use port 80 through the same IP of gateawy server.
I think it depends that your ISP, is they "open" some ports in WAP accounts its possible as in my case.
