Hi all,
I have a little problem with my P900 - if I try to switch it on, it does nothing - except for the green light and screen backlight staying on.
I took some pretty important pics yesterday, and I need to try and get them back if I can - the P900 being broken at the moment doesn't matter as I can get that replaced - I just want to take it apart to see if there's anything obviously wrong before I send it back to be replaced.
I've searched Esato, and Google, and I can't find anything on how to disassemble - anyone know or care to point me to a post?
Thanks!

unless you dropped it i doubt theirs anything wrong inside it to take it apart you have to take out the 4 screws in the back simple really.

There's a guy on ebay selling disks with detailed descriptions and videos of how to disassemble the p800. i don't think it covers p900 though. used id "leighton040".
-have you tried leaving battery off for a while; i buggered my phone yesterday by cancelling a restore from backup operation halfway - phone locked in a loop of starting up to animation, then switching off. left battery off 5 mins, tried again, repeated 3 times and all worked.

Check this out
http://ripkord.myby.co.uk/P900mechanical.pdf
This is an original 'technical' document for P900 (probably used by SE technicians).
I have a similar thread started at

Thanks so much for the answers everyone - not often I ask questions like this and it's refreshing to get a list of good replies, esp. the PDF!
I've taken it apart and put it back together and it still doesn't work! lol!
Also tried the battery off, did that overnight, no joy there.
Oh well, I guess I've lost the pics, but thanks again for the help anyway.
(incedentally, I tried searching for "disassemble" and "take apart" but not dismantle!)

It would be great if you pen down the steps in words just for reference in future (i.e, step by step on how you did it).

It's pretty much as the PDF says, although I used a paperclip to remove the rubber plugs on the two upper screws.
