I know it is possible to send pics taken by the phone to pc by email and mms but that costs you so i was wondering if it is possible to send them through a usb data cable?

you can only use cable to retrieve picture from CERTAIN MODELS, such as the T61x, T63x series, Z600, and better models, even with Float's Mobile Agent.
The original poster has a T230 and that certainly will NOT work. T3xx, T2xx etc. will not work.
