Right, this is beginning to get to me. I've been looking around the net for a couple of days to try and find the answer, but the best I can come up with is peple saying they've solved it - but not how.
So my problem....
Basically I can't get email to work. I've tried sending the GPRS email settings from the SE website, but when I attempt to send/recv, I just get connection failed.
I'm on blueyonder broadband, have an SE K700 and am with Vodafone UK. I do not have a vodafone email account. My blueyonder account has 3 mailboxes, but the one I'm attempting to connect to has only one alias (even tried a mailbox with no aliases).
Has anyone with the actual setup got email to work, and if so what are the exact settings I need?
Thanks
Jay

I always thought Blueyonder and NTL customers could only access their email from Blueyonder and NTL IP addresses ?

Mmmm. I know they expect a certain address for internet browsing, so you could well be correct.
It's just that I've seen a number of posts where people claim to have got blueyonder email working - but of course specific details were missing so it could have been dial up or something.

I could be wrong but when i had mine installed years ago, the guy told me i could only access my email from my own IP address as a security precaution. It meant nobody could hack my email account.
I dont think ive ever tried to access it from another computer though, so i cant say whether it works or not.

I think it's true to say that you can't send via the blueyonder SMTP server, but you should be able to retrieve email.
Further investigation reveals that I can't even send out through the send.vodafone.net server. So I'm beginning to thing that the sending bit goes wrong first and aborts the receiving bit. From what I've read, I think I'll be calling vodafone to check I've got access to the Internet APN.
