I have decided to buy myself a lovely P900 in 10 weeks time but would like to know ppl's opinions on the camera, it's quality and how they rate it please.......

Also, my partner's P900 (which she hates me fiddling with hahaha) which has the latest firmware upgrade sometimes "loses" the keyboard icon on the status bar - which does cause problems when she has to enter a password! Any idea why the keyboard icon disappears? Just a bug? I believe it only happens when she accesses S&W SMSManager, if that helps at all!

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks masseur but she isn't using EYiTap, SMSManager is the only app that has been installed.
I've just phoned her and apparently it does only happen within SMSManager, so it's probably a problem with the app but as S&W have failed to reply I thought I would post here.

If your buying it in 10 weeks, it may be worth waiting a little longer and getting a p910? Even if you go for the p900 it would probably be worth waiting until the p910 is released, as the p900 prices will probably plummet.

Hey there Rubymagic. Just thought i'd give you my input. As far as the camera goes, it's fine outdoors or in good lighting. Other than that is is pretty weak. A flash might help in this area, but i don't think the pics would be that great at night even with it. But for caller ID pics and just for a fun camera, it does the job. My previous phone was a T616 so i've seen a huge improvement from that. Also, i've tried out quite a few other vga camera phones and find this one to be at least as good as most.

If you get a P900 for a steal, go for it. I believe strongly that a P900 will someday be allowed to upgrade its firmware and become same as a P910 (although not in terms of its h/w).

If you have money to spend and time to wait, then definitely wait for the P910. Its worth the wait.

I would wait for the P910 if I were you... worth the wait, coz the P910 looks more refined...

The "problem" I have is that I am currently living in Asia-Pacific (Borneo to be exact). I have just looked at the SE Asia sites and I can find NO mention of the P910 at all!

At present the P900 is here currently retailing at approx £420 at the current exchange rate and to be honest, from the little I have read about the P910, I don't think the differences would benefit me a great deal - the keyboard on the reverse of the flip I would never use, I don't really have a need for large amounts of memory.

Although..... "Press the camera button, tap the send button on the P910i touchscreen, choose a contact and your picture or video clip is on its way".......I like this, but is the P900 any different?

No, its not any different to the p900. The p900 is a great phone, but to be honest if i were you i would see about importing a p910, in 10 or 12 weeks it will probably be available in a few places.

Check out the photo thread on the website to check photo quality.

My opinion: not bad in day, and as you can expect in low light - passable, but not great. Cameraphones
