Hi,

I've just tried to go on secured internet site with my brand new K700, and everytime I try to get an https connection, I've got the following message "The server identity could not be verified"

This message doesn't appear when I connect to a non secured url (http). Does anyone experiment the same trouble (try to connect to https://www.videoposte.net)

I've got the R2A041, and I'd like to know if this problem occurs on the last firmware version too

The reason you don't get any such message on insecure sites, is that no-one asked anybody about the identity of the server.

Based on the message you get, I would guess that the secure server is using a Certificate Authority for which you do not have a certificate on you phone.

Have you checked that you have all the required Certificates installed in you phone?

Hmm...

I just checked the URL you mentioned:

It seems the Certificate has been issued to "www.videoposte.com", while you are accessing "www.videoposte.net".

This is not how the secure site should be doing things. It is not a problem on your phone.

Thanks for your investigations,

I've checked that I've got a full list of valid certificates on my phone, and the connection problems on https sites doesn't only occur on the URL I gave.

I called the SE support, and they confirmed that there was a trouble on secure connections. They told me to upgrade the firmware, but I don't think that it will resolve the problem. I' m a bit disappointed, as I got this phone especially to use the GPRS internet connections.

Thank you for the feedback on SE support's stance on this.
