Well everybody, I have had a spare weekend in Cork, Ireland.
I am moving to a new country soon with my job soon & I wanted to get as many snapshots of the sights of Cork. I must have taken about 200 pictures & walked about 10 miles!!
I started to get hooked on using the Camera on the phone. The quality is (as everybody knows) not brilliant, but with a bit of work you can improve the quality. Here are my top tips to improve the quality.

1. Change the picture quality setting on each of the pre set options to high. By default it is "medium quality"
2. The light direction is the most important factor. Always have the light shining from behind the camera.
3. Look for good contrasts in the background colours, A pale background makes everything is wishy washy .
4. Rotate the camera 90deg to improve a shot. Think landscape & portrait
5. Try different picture options for different lighting. There is very little in it, but I did find that the colours will sometimes change to a better shade using a different option. As a rule of thumb use Auto first, then try one of the others. After all its only the turn of a thumb wheel.

I will post some examples over the next few days, to let you see what I mean.
By the way, you may be wondering what I would use the phone for when I could get a lot better photos from a camera. Well I am finding that sometimes its nice to have all these pictures with me in my pocket. If I find a really good view or shot, I can always go back with a decent camera. There is one other thing I am going to use the photos for. I will tell you more about that later.

By the way... this exercise wasn't as sad as it sounds.. There are a lot of Pubs in Ireland

I remember reading a few specific tips on settings like contrast / brightness, etc in the "Post photos taken with Px00" thread (aint sure if the title is right, somewht similar)...
