Does anybody know about a software that is capable of playing mp3pro files on a SE P900?
Haven't had any luck till now.

The built-in music player can play mp3pro files, but only as normal mp3. the quality is a wee bit better than mp3 files, but not as good as playing mp3pro files on a mp3pro player. i havent had luck in getting a mp3pro player for the p900, tell me if u did! am using ogg player, btw...

Just to play mp3pro files doesn't really help. The quality is worse because the high frequency part of the sound is missing - at least in comparision to mp3 files with more bandwith.
The files that I'm interessted to play are audiobooks (48-64KB). They sound horrible without real mp3pro support.

Missunderstanding? I'm talking about software that can play mp3pro files (almost all can 'cause backward compatibility is a major benefit of mp3pro) but not supporting mp3pro advanced features...
Degradation in quality doesn't occur when mp3pro coded material is reproduced with mp3pro compatible software!

I use Mp3 pro as well, encoded at 80kb/s which is equivalent to 160kb/s of regular Mp3 but half the size. No sound degradation on playback even on my p800. Mp3 Pro was designed to be backward compatible with just "Mp3" players and has proven so thus far in all the Mp3 players i have tried it on without noticeable degradation even though the are not Mp3 Pro players, including my Car Deck. True they dont support the advance features but I could care less for them, I use Mp3 Pro because of the size difference.

Well, mp3Pro sounds a lot better in mp3Pro players than in mp3 players... try playing a mp3pro file in winamp with the mp3pro plug-in enabled and disabled, therez a HUGE difference.
